Super Mande Percussion

Super Mande Percussion is a dynamic ensemble that performs traditional African percussion, folk and jazz music. The ensemble is led by Mady Keita (Mali) – one of Australia's finest exponents of West African music and culture – and features multi-instrumentalists from Senegal, Gambia, Guinea and Ghana. The full ensemble showcases a unique blend of vocals, djembes, kora (African harp), balafon (African xylophone), guitar, bass drums and dance.

Each rhythm has its own songs and dances with lead djembe phrases to match. Super Mande Percussion have become a popular addition to numerous world music, folk and multicultural festivals since 2005, engaging and interacting with audiences of all sizes through their stage and roving performances, interactive drumming/singing/dance workshops, drum-making and cultural experiences.
