David Francey (Canada)

David Francey, a Scottish-born Canadian songwriter, is one of Canada’s most revered folk poets and singers Toronto Star, migrated from Ayrshire, Scotland to Canada early in life, eventually working as a carpenter. Amidst his labor, Francey quietly crafted poetry, humming melodies to himself.

His 1999 debut album, Torn Screen Door, launched a celebrated career, earning him four Juno Awards, covers by artists like The Del McCoury Band. Francey's performances are infused with Scottish humor, the finest lyricism and vocals.
